Follow the Leader by Oliver Wyatt-Burton
Foreword
So incase you're wondering where this snippet of The Lost Adventures is taken from, here's your answer! This is set a few months after The Destined supposedly destroyed Genesis, little do Emily, Harvey, Revilo and Amber know, the very evil they fought is now their leader! Genesis took on Oliver's physical appearance and has the real Oliver locked away in a dungeon. This is one of the evenings where Emily tails Genesis and begins to have suspicions about the dragon she's married.

The wind blew calmly through the forest, knocturnal creatures scurried around on the forest floor, searching for food and shelter, the moon shone brightly and cast an eerie light that penetrated the darkness, making bewitching shafts of white light through the filtered tree leaves.
The Destined were resting from the day, all in total bliss, unaware of the surroundings. Genesis began to stir, he opened his eyes and silently sat up, he saw Emily laying calmly at his right hand side, Harvey was a little distance off from her, and a short distance from his left were Revilo and Amber, sleeping as close as he and Emily had been, he'd suspected that there was something between them for a while now, but it wasn't of importance to him.
Genesis lifted himself onto his four legs and began to tread lightly away from the other sleeping dragons, he did not want them to follow him. Revilo yawned in his sleep, causing Genesis to freeze on the spot, Revilo mumbled something that sounded like "Go back to sleep, Ollie". Genesis felt a pang of worry in his chest, had the orange dragon seen him standing there? Or was he simply caught in a memory? Genesis shook himself of the worry.
"Stupid idiot" thought Genesis, walking further from the dragons, unaware that Emily was watching him.
Emily watched her husband sneaking off, undoubtedly she was confused, why would he be going somewhere without the others? She watched him turn darker under the shade of some trees and then he turned a corner and was swallowed completely by the night. Emily sat up and looked to her friends, then to where Oliver had walked off.
"I'd better hurry after him, before I lose track of him" thought Emily, standing up and tiptoeing in a similar manner that Oliver had. She reached the spot she had seen Oliver vanish through and looked in the direction he had turned, she saw his tail slip calmly out of sight, she advanced in a steady prowl so as not to attract his attention.
Genesis stood still and closed his eyes, listening. He could hear the owls hooting their slow tune, the crickets chirping and the faint but heavy falling of water. He heard a twig snap behind him and looked around, nothing was there, maybe it was just a duck or other animal, pondering here by chance. Genesis continued on.
Emily cursed herself under her breath, she had almost given herself away, she chanced a look past the tree she was hiding behind, Oliver had continued to move on, she heaved a silent sigh of relief, her heart was pounding, why was she so nervous? Oliver was a nice, kind dragon, he wouldn't do anything to harm her, would he? But still she kept to the shadows.
Genesis walked briskly, yet elegantly onwards, completely unaware of the dragoness that was following him. The trees were thinning out now. He walked beneath a pair of trees which had joined branches, walking through he was greeted with the sight of a breath-taking waterfall, pouring from a mountain to the lake below. He knew he was near to where he was headed now. He looked to the sky, there was not a single cloud interrupting the inky darkness, the stars shone sharply and the moon was whole and huge, even in his eyes, the view was one of beauty.
Emily stood up from behind a rock and walked to the two trees with interlocking branches, was this where Oliver had needed to go? She'd visited this forest many a time, but she had never encountered such a pair of trees, she ventured through them and was met with the sight of an enormous waterfall, she smiled a happy smile, this was truly a natural beauty! She stood near the edge of a nearby cliff and looked around, everything seemed so still and calm, she noticed that there was a fog in the distance, and then she saw Oliver in the distance, walking on a ledge behind the waterfall, but it was at the same height as her, if Oliver looked to his right, he would see her! She quickly but quietly sprinted a fair length along the path and waited at the U-bend.
Genesis looked ahead, there was a fog a small distance off, but this was to be expected. He looked at the falling water that somewhat obscured him to his right, he was getting closer now, he reached the end of the waterfall and turned the corner, a large tree faced him, a dead end. Genesis pushed aside it's leaves to reveal a tall, iron-wrought light with a lamp at the top. Genesis breathed some fire at the lamp, igniting it. A large section of the tree swung inwards, a secret door! Genesis proceeded inside, hiding himself in the darkness.
Emily had been peering around the waterfall, when Oliver had lit that lamp, it had surprised her, for one she had never seen anything like it, for another she knew that Oliver could not breathe fire! The sudden lighting had been so bright that Oliver's features had become blackened out, like some sort of shadow. She crept along and walked inside the tree, just as the door closed quietly behind her.
